Badmaash Boulder Bhangra previously known as Dream Team Bhangra (DTB) is University of Colorado Boulder’s official and only premier bhangra dance team. Established in 2014, DTB is comprised of students from all over the country and world with diverse racial backgrounds. The team aims to share their passion for dancing whilst raising awareness of South Asian culture by performing throughout all of Colorado. While this high-energy dance form originates from the Punjab region of India, most of the musical selections are fusions of global music to draw the energy of the audience into the performances. The team puts in their own time outside of academic and professional obligations to create original choreography.

 

Through our diversity in cultures, we’ve been able to create an open space for all dancers of any age and race as a way to defy spaces that are typically dominated by people of that culture. DTB is currently an all-female-dance team in a naturally male-dominated artform. We strongly believe we are pushing the image of the modern-day woman by empowering our dancers to feel strong and comfortable with their bodies. Catch us at our next performance!
